Tor-ramdisk is being ported to the MIPS architecture.

There has been a lot of buzz on the or-talk list about running tor clients/relays/exit nodes in embedded environments like ARM and MIPS boards. For example, Kyle Williams built the JanusPA - An Inline Hardware Privacy Adapter. Plug-n-play devices like these make Tor's anonymity available to the average user which expands the network and makes Tor better able to obfuscate network traffic. Imagine if every cell phone in the world were a Tor relay!

Well we've jumped into the frenzy and we've ported tor-ramdisk to the MIPS architecture. The hope is to develop tor-mipsel-ramdisk into a full fledged router environment with a UI that reflects a CISCO-ish grammar. Right now, we're running node "mufasa" whose Platform / Version is Tor 0.2.0.33 (r18212) on Linux mips according to torstatus.kgprog.com. Its on a QEMU emulator but soon we hope to migrate to the RB433AH board that you can get from routerboard.com.
